Ransom "Wheelz" Heth
Paralyzed Wheels Foundation
Wayland, Michigan

Ten years ago Ransom "Wheelz" Heth became a "former" biker. A crash on his bike left him paralyzed from the chest down, able only to move his eyes and left hand.
Undeterred and determined to be in the wind again, he soon started drawing a blue print for a trike he was going to build, piece by piece and part by part - by himself. It took him 14 months to finish his Cadillac trike, "Bad To The Bone", but the day finally came when he could take off - Wheelz hasn't looked back since.
In that spirit, Wheelz has set another goal for himself. He has started a non-profit organization, the Paralyzed Wheels Foundation (PWF), which helps other "former" bikers, those who have spinal cord injuries or other handicaps, get back into the wind. But trikes cost money, and for that purpose Wheelz has planned a cross-country pilgrimage on Bad To The Bone, visiting each and every biker event possible, to raise funds for and publicize his new organization.
Wheelz invites every club or organization to hold fundraising events or to just travel with him for a few miles when he comes through their towns or counties in order to show their support and help make it possible for less fortunate brothers and sisters to ride.
On the way, however, he found out that while it only takes a quick second to be doomed to a life in a wheelchair, it takes a long time and hard work to help others out of that wheelchair. But Wheelz is determined to make PWF for the biking world what Bad To The Bone has become for him: Freedom.
